SAMUEL HOUSE BRASWELL was born December 16, 1844 in DeKalb County, Georgia, He served in Company A of the 38th Ga. Regiment and his record from the roster reads:

Braswell, Samuel H. - Pvt. 9/26/1861. Arm disabled at 2d Manassas, Va. 8/28/1862. Wounded at Fredericksburg, Va. 5/4/1863. Roll dated 11/9/1864, shows him "Absent, wounded; now in South Carolina on furlough." Pension records show he was at home, wounded, close of war.

Samuel became the Son-in-law of Maj. John Y. Flowers, commander of Co. A, when he married his daughter, Georgia Ann Flowers, on December 22, 1864 in DeKalb County, Ga. Georgia Ann was the daughter of JOHN FLOWERS and DICY REEVE. She was born January 18, 1843 in DeKalb County, Ga. Samuel died February 19, 1914 in DeKalb County, Georgia. Georgia Ann lived nearly another decade and she died September 14, 1923 in DeKalb County, Georgia. Both husband and wife are buried at Prospect Methodist Churchyard, Doraville, DeKalb County, Georgia.
