Gunn, James - 1st Corp. 10/1/1861. Appointed 2d Sgt. June 1, 1862. Died at Richmond, Va. June 1, 1862.

Mortally wounded in the battle of Gaines Mill, June 27th, 1862. Died from wounds July 1st, 1862. Son of John Gunn, father filed claim for unclaimed pay due, March 1863. Buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond, Va., records read Jas Gunn, Co. C, 38th Ga. buried in Grave #6, Row A, Division C.
