Monday morning all that was mortal of W. R. Crook, of near Dewey Rose, passed away at the advanced age of Eighty years. About five weeks ago he was stricken with paralysis. He was partially recovered from the stroke when he was taken with a bowel trouble, which in connection with his already weak condition, soon ended his life. He as a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church and a staunch believer, always doing his duty to God and man. He was a conservative gentleman, a man who lived at home, paid his debts, and endeavored to treat his neighbors as himself. He leaves a wife and four children. The interment took place at Stinchcomb Church Tuesday morning. In the death of Mr. Crook, Elbert County loses one of its best citizens.
