Jefferson Hawkins - Pvt. January 18, 1862. Transferred from 3d Co. E, 25th Regiment Ga. Inf. to 2d Co. I, 38th Regiment Ga. Inf. 5/2/1862. Died of pneumonia in Richmond, Va., hospital December 2, 1862. His father, Josiah Hawkins filed a claim for his unpaid bounty and other monies owed his two sons, Jefferson and John A. Hawkins, on Aug 11th, 1863, stating neither son left a wife or child. His father filed the claim at Abbeville, Henry County, Ala. Brother of John A. Hawkins shown below. Jefferson Hawkins is buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Va. Cemetery records state: J. Hawkins, buried in the Soldiers Section, state, regiment, burial lot unknown, died Dec 1st, 1862.

John A. Hawkins - private March 1, 1862. Transferred from 3d Co. E, 25th Regiment Ga. Inf. to 2d Co. I, 38th Regiment Ga. Inf. 5/2/1862. Wounded and captured at Antietam, Md. 9/17/1862. Died of wounds in U.S.A. General Hospital at Frederick City, Md. October 28, 1862. Buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md. Cemetery records show: Hawkins, John W. Private Co A, 38th Georgia.
