Gaines, M. C.- (Marion C. Gaines) Pvt. 10/15/1861. Died of typhoid fever, in General Hospital at Staunton, Va. July 27, 1862. Buried there in Thornrose Cemetery. Born in Elbert Co., Ga. Father, George Gaines filed a claim for any money due his son upon his death; CSA service records.
