Bond, E. M. (Eppy M. Bond)- 2d Corp. 10/15/1861. Wounded in hand at 2d Manassas, Va. 8/28/1862. Roll for August 31, 1864, shows he "Sent up application to be retired. Approved and returned to applicant."

Born 28 Feb 1838, single, mechanic, living with mother Clarricy and seven siblings in 1860 census. Married Ella Thornton 1/7/1864, Ella died 20 Aug 1871, he then married Nancy S. Ridgeway 1/18/1872 in Elbert Co., Ga. Eppy died 2 Oct 1914, Elbert Co., GA and is buried at Stinchcomb United Methodist Church, Elbert County, Ga., marker reads CORP, CO H 38, GA INF CSA. Nancy Bond filed a Ga. CSA pension application in 1919. She was born May 10, 1848, died March 16, 1927. Brother of Nelson C. Bond of Co. H.

Mr E M Bond died quite unexpectedly last Friday night at his home near Stinchcomb Church. Just after supper he went into his room to lie down and a short time after when a member of the family went in to ascertain why he was so quiet, it was found that he was still in death. Mr Bond was a Confederate veteran, 74 years old and is survived by his wife and seven children. Of the children, Mr Will Bond, Mrs Laura Sanders and Miss Ella Bond we by his first marriage. Surviving children of his second marriage are Miss Alice Bond, John and Albert Bond and Mrs Kate Donald. He was a member of Stinchcomb Church and of the Philomathea Masonic Lodge. He was buried at Stinchcomb Church Sunday morning with Masonic honors.
